Casey Saxton Files to Run for State House in District 37

KEARNS, UTAH - On January 2, 2026 Kearns resident Casey Saxton filed to run for the Utah House of Representatives in District 37, challenging a six-year Democrat incumbent. "I believe we can deliver more for our community," said Casey Saxton. "We have needs that must be addressed, and it's time we had a seat at the decision making table in the Utah House." At present, Republicans hold a 61 to 14 super majority in the Utah House, and thus, they decide the agenda of the body, what legislation passes, and what legislation fails. "Our community matters," said Saxton. "We are often overlooked and ignored. It does not help that we don't have a seat at the table when major policy decisions are discussed and debated amongst the House Majority. The best we get is often an up or down vote at the end of the lawmaking process. It's critical we have a seat at that table and give our community a larger voice moving forward." District 37 includes portions of Kearns, Taylorsville and West Jordan. It is the most compact legislative district in Utah.
